I may be looking at some Harry Ostergaard dining chairs to buy, but would just like to know exactly what to look for to be sure they are authentic. I know about the 'lip' on the back, but do they all have the 'lip'? Is there certain hardware to look for? Makers marks, stamps, etc.? Wood type? Construction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I believe it's the star...
I believe it's the star detailing on the underside.
They are much more fabulous in Brazilian Rosewood though.

I ended up with the chairs....
I ended up with the chairs. They are constructed with dovetail joinery on the underside with flat head screw hardware. They have the lip on the back. They also have a round Danish furniture and MM Moreddi stamps on the bottom. I'll post pictures tomorrow.
Pictures
Attached are a few quick pictures I took of the chairs. Overall they are in great condition. A few nicks and chips here and there and one chair has been poorly repaired but other than that they are solid. They came from an elderly couples home who just needed to get rid of the stuff since she no longer had room for them (along with a Walter of Wabash table and an unknown what appeared to be american, teak 80" credenza). Anyways, attached are the pictures and I will be going back for the credenza and table next weekend.
