In the process of stripping an old Womb chair, I can across a few interesting details that I thought I would share.
1) The old girl is 52 years old today! ...at least according to the paper date tag embedded in the fiberglass.
2) The ottoman shell (2) and seat shell (5) are enumerated in grease pen. The same numbers are stamped into their steel legs.
3) I am guessing these are the original cushions – foam is wrapped in muslin, which is fully stitched around the foam insert.
Hope someone finds this at least mildly interesting.

Very cool! And may the re-do last for the next 52 years.
Best,
Aunt Mark

teakhound,
Looks like you decided to tackle this project sooner than later......
Hopefully it is easier the second time around.....

Thanks, all. Will keep you posted.
Peruche – You have inspired my wife. She is urging me to delay this project until we find a second one so that we can upholster a matching pair, so it may be a while before we complete this project. You are a bad influence, Peruche 😉

Buy the cloth for two and upholster one now. Simple!
