Has anyone ever seen this piece before?
It is listed as a Design by Hans Wegner and made by Getama, but then lists Creator as "Attributed to Hans Wegner".
Would this be one of those wishful thinking items? I know this dealer has many nice Wegner pieces, but I can't find any other info on this piece...maybe it is that rare as the price is quite high.

Yes,
seen that one to, but who's to say he just got his info from the other? So now there are two in the world listed online...still not convinced.

Who's
to say anything on the internet is true ? 😉
Things get accredited to all sorts of people and picked up as genuine, it's a minefield- I agree
The web is like a huge game of Chinese Whispers, I often think it would be almost possible to rewrite history, especially with sites like Wikipedia where anybody can edit the information

I once wrote to Wyeth about...
I once wrote to Wyeth about a Hans Wegner daybed/sofa they had for sale, that I'd never seen before. It wasn't 'signed' so I was curious how they knew it was Wegner. They never answered. I suspect they didn't really know for certain.

Here's how it works
It's pretty similar to the art market:
If you have something with labeling or a rock solid provenance you list it as "By Hans Wegner", along with the books it is described in and the provenance.
If you have something that is clearly a recognized design - say the Wishbone chair but doesn't have any marks you list it as "unlabeled Wegner Wishbone chair" and try to give it as much provenance as you can, i.e. "bought from Design Research in Cambridge in 1973"
If you have something that has design hallmarks of Wegner, but isn't a recognized design you list it as "attributed to Hans Wegner, due to details in X,Y, & Z"
If you have something that is close to a recognized design, but not exact you list it as "Hans Wegner style, possibly his as it was made by Getama in 1973"
If you're an eBay hack with something that is vaguely Danish styled you list it as "!!!!!!!SUPER RARE CHAIR LIKE WISHBONE PROTOTYPE WEGNER JUHL EAMES DANISH HEYWOOD WAKEFIELD RARE L@@@@@@@K!!!!!!

That design IS Wegner.
Though I think it's a later design. I have a vintage catalogue which shows both this design and the other all wood (oak with teak top) tray table.
I own the all wood version, but this one with the metal legs is very handsome and versatile.
The table is pretty uncommon, but I think that price is VERY aggressive. After all, it's not as rare or desirable as this Wegner table/ bowl:
