Hello, I would appreciate any input as to how I should go about selling my inherited Papa Bear chair and Ottoman.
I have been trying to determine how old it is by looking at the straps etc.. ( the color is light ). The stamp marks are worn off or someone said the stamp could be under the straps on the wood. The stuffing is like a rubber coated horse hair.I was going to replace the inside of the seat cushion but, the stuffing is sewn around the edges of the fabric and the fabric is now stuck to the stuffing due to age so, will the whole cushion have to be replaced and upholstered? Modernica were going to insert a cushion from their reproductions into my original fabric but, it looks like the fabric will just rip apart if they attempt to take it out.
Are there any other marks or tell tale signs that would indicate if this is 50's ( believe it is from the people I inherited from ) or produced in the 60's ? It is Black wool and I know that was used often in the early ones. I have been researching these chairs and can't believe how many different "eras" of them there seems to be.
Thanks!
