where to get flo-tilt cylinder?
Where do I get a part like that? I assume that if the chair falls backwards and forwards a bit without any resistance and then just hits metal, that's what's missing.

Repair of Old Version Eames Chair Flo-Tilt Mechanism

Is there any way you could please just send your photos to us or the Eames guy (what is his name?) so that we could fix our old aluminum Eames chair we love and really want to use? We've been waiting for such a long, long time for the photos you took knowing they would be really, really helpful to us during the repair process, even without any captions.
Also, could we get the exact name and make of shell chairs you cannibalized?

I am also in need of a replacement Flo-Tilt cylinder for an Eames Aluminum series lounge chair. I'd welcome any suggestions for where I could locate one.

Those who are in need of reparing flo-tilt piece, if you have all the pieces needed (as pictured in my previous post) it's pretty simple to fix. I don't think you need a manual. If I can do it, you probably can, too...
Looks like the flo-tilt cylinders have not been newly manufactured yet, so the best bet is to search on eBay for a chair or a base with it. Good luck!

TK, I also have a flo-tilt that is broken. I have all of the parts you show but the chair does not stay upright. It is in a state of permanent recline. How pray tell did you "fix" the cylinder?
