Help......have exhausted my search for the designer/cabinetmaker for this lovely piece.
I have owned it for over a year and still cannot identify whom it is attributed to.
Please help if anyone knows anything about it.
Thanks a million..Love you all!

No Markings Anywhere
I believe it is teak combined with some possibly other wood on the drawer fronts.
The legs mounted on the exterior with the lipped drawers should give me some direction however it is not in the Gio Ponti league as I have looked at his work and it doesn't seem to be his work.

No one who
wanted his furniture to last would make it of redwood. Well, except perhaps Mr Wright -- and no one seems quite sure whether he cared or not if his stuff survived him . . .
The wood is really too soft to be expected to weather normal use.

yes, but
I am currently working on the redwood petals of the Schultz petal table and since they are old growth and quarter sawn are fairly tough, and look at the grain of that baby....wide and even like redwood. I asked it with doubts myself.

Chiming in
The case veneer looks like teak to me. But it does seem pretty likely the solid wood parts are a different wood. Might we request a close up of the darker wood. Knowing what wood it is might be helpful.

Another version of teak
It appears to be teak as well since the striations/grain patterns are very long.
Will the origin of the wood help to identify the maker? I will take an image shortly.
Thanks for your help all

Is it marked as being Danish? It has quite British look to me.

In the Southwest (US)
There are no marks on it whatsoever.
I am surprised that it does not have anything identifying the maker because it is a finely constructed piece.
There doesn't seem to be many designers who used the type of exterior mounted
leg so that is why I thought it would be relatively easy to research.
I bought it from someone who said it belonged to a high end hotelier.
Upon closer inspection the body of the cabinet does appear to be afromorsia (sp) as I checked out grain patterns on the web so does that help?
