I'm interested to know what D.A.s think of Chrome, Google's new browser, particularly its style and feel. I find its design superior to my old browser, Firefox, mainly because it has very little interface 'chrome' (the widgets that frame a browser window), thus providing a larger viewing space. Functionally, it's faster and more stable, and I like the ability to drag and drop tabs. Any other thoughts?

Inasmuch as it does not yet...
Inasmuch as it does not yet work for Mac-I'd have to say its utterly useless 😉
I am, however, amazed that there are members of the DA community still using PCs :-O

Perhaps you should have...
Perhaps you should have bought a double cheeseburger or gone to BK and bought a whopper instead? Honestly though, in terms of ease of use, intuitiveness and operating system, I think Macs beat PCs. I know this is a subject of much debate and personal taste.
That said, however, I think most here would agree taht, aesthetically, the Apple products, as a whole, blow away the competition. Any company that has borrowed so heavily from Dieter Rams and Reinhold Weiss designs is okay in my book!

To say nothing of the so-called
revolutionary Windows operating system of the mid 90's was in fact a less then stellar copy of Apple's operating system in place from the birth of Apple in the early 80's.
I've read that when people go from PC to Apple they rarely if ever go back to PC's, but the few times that people go from an Apple environment to a PC, they go back to Apple when the PC frustrates them or packs it in, they come to their senses and switch back.
Yes Apple is the elegant, intuitive, solution.
I hear that Chrome is billed currently as the beta version, although I also hear that Google releases everything, bugs or fully fleshed out, as Beta.

Dear jesgord:
Indeed I have a problem with technologies! and that,s why I was kidding.
And as you showed your point of view, I funded nice a shadow from other the corner.
On personal taste, yes I agree that aesthetically, the Apple products are really cool.i-phone n i-pod, agree. But as a designer I,d love to say that I don,t need it.
On the other hand, here, because of affordability it,s only used by graphic designers, the rest almost nobody uses Mac. Architects I know that used Mac, and as almost used PC, they had to move from Mac.
For instance, Instead of a Mac I,d produce 200-700 lamps, high end-good quality, so I choose to design/develop/produce the lamps. It,s not that the Macs are SO expensive, but relative prices are different, and became cheap to design/develop/produce. So I,ll have to wait!
Mac-Pcs Of course this is a subject of much debate!!!
BTM: you,re right Sadly true the copy of windows, perhaps mac would be used by almost everybody and then cheaper. But I don,t know i-phone n i-pod are becoming standards of have to have, and the prices not. (must be the price of coolness)
Brent: sorry I run out of topic, didn,t tried Chromo yet, I,ll do!
