I found this Howard Miller clock the other day, which looks like a George Nelson design, however I haven't been able to find any info. on it. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone know if this design is rare or not? It's currently not working, and based on the design I believe it probably had a pendulum at one point. For some reason the owner felt that it would be best to remove the back and nail it to the front of the piece (presumably to cover the hole where the missing pendulum was, although I am speculating). In any case, I would appreciate any info that you guys could provide. Is this a piece worth trying to fix? Could it be sold for parts (face and hands)? What would you designaddicts do?
The first batch of pics shows how the clock was found, the second batch how I believe it should look (based on nail holes where the back appears to have been).

More pics.
Here are some images of how I think the clock is meant to look, minus possible missing parts. Does anyone know how to date this design?
