Hi All,
Newbie here, reading for a while, great inspiration.
Bought this lamp recently with my fingers crossed it was genuine, can anyone say yay or nay?
The label says " PATENT NO. 727944 MADE IN FRANCE. SUPPLIED BY BRITISH CENTRAL ELECTRICAL CO.LTD 16 BANNER STREET LONDON EC1"
Many thanks for the help
Andy

I'm sure
your lamp is right and they just made a special plaque for that specific company's order.
If you want two switch out the plaque, you can buy them on French ebay, here:

I think aurthur is right,...
I think aurthur is right, this most likely would have been the case in the Uk. As all Jielde lamps are manufactured in Lyon, France, as far as I am aware, and still are until this day. I would imagne the workshop would have been an expensive set-up in its day, as there were plenty of work lamp alternatives around at this time, the most commonly recognised being herbert and terry in Redditch Birmingham with the Anglepoise. But of course lacking the internal sophistication of the jielde, being able to operate 360.
Oh and did I mention nice lamp 🙂
