Emails every few months to say oh so sorry about delay , supplier problems etc. etc. etc.

I bought a chair from them in Feb 06 and it broke. Asked for a refund, they agreed, sent the chair back as requested and guess what? Yep, I'm still waiting 1 year and 3 months later! I'd be interested in going to their offices if anyone knows where their real trading office is. It definitely would be worth it just to see the faces of these crooks.

JMC - non delivery
Another warning and bad story:
I bought a Barcelona set and a PK20.
The Barcelona set arrived fine, nice quality.
The PK20 never did.
I moved from the U.S. to Denmark, JMC promised to deliver PK20 to me in DK but they never did and stopped answering emails and calls. By the way, when they answer emails it is without previous correspondance attached so ensure you keep all emails you have send as well as received.
Luckily i paid w. AMEX and AMEX has now refunded me the money.

Suckered from an Eames Chair
It appears I should have done my research a bit more thoroughly before placing an order with Modern Classics Direct!
I purchased an Eames chair (599) online at the beginning of September, and it's now become very obvious that they won't ever deliver the chair I ordered (I've been offered an alternative colour.) They fob me off when I call, and won't answer my emails.
Despairing, I've contacted my credit card company to see what I can do...
How to fix their wagon
I take it that JMC is a British website. If that's true, you have a couple of methods of getting even with their sorry buns:
1. Contact the local newspapers. They love to ingestigate and report on local or regional internet fraud.
2. Contact the TV stations. They also love simular investigations.
3. Contact Scotland Yard and file a complaint.

I had a similar problem here in the US and I contacted the police department in the town of their origin. They investigated and I got my money back.

I've also purchased a Leather Lobby Chair from Modern Classics Direct in September for £799 and have been fobbed off with delivery dates and false promises. By the looks of it they have no intention of sending the chair or offering me a re-fund. Its December and I was told the delivery would be in the first week in October. They don't reply to any correspondence now 🙁
I'd recommend that you DO NOT deal with them. I'd suggest everybody reports them to the trading standards and get them struck off from trading any further.
