Furnishing a ski chalet--Need advice  

Hi, all
I have been in transit to the US for the past 36 hours, (don't ask) and out of the loop.
I must have missed the "rustic" thread, some good stuff on there, definitely.
The chalet is uber-Heidi. Every wall and ceiling is exposed wood. The floors, right now, are berber carpet, which I'm planning on ripping out and replacing with I-don't-know-what yet.
Because there's soooo much wood, I'm trying to steer toward iron, metal, stone, fiberglass, etc.
I'll post a pic of the house and also an unbelievably kitsch fabric panel of a St. Bernard dog that I am over the moon about.

ps. I'm gonna train my old cat to wear a pint sized flask of decent vodka around his neck...
