Just came by an Aluminum Herman Miller swivel chair that won't swivel. The base will not move in any direction. The frame under seat near coupling on one side is also cracked. I would like to restore. I probably will not be able to repair the frame, but should be able to get the swivel back and replace the fabric. Any help would be appreciated. grant

Don't.
It costs about as much to reupholster one of those chairs as to buy an entire used chair. Spending that kind of money on a chair with a cracked frame and frozen base would be beyond pointless.

Thanks for your comment,...
Thanks for your comment, I've reached the same conclusion today. I have a tendency to hold onto treasures "just because." My new thinking makes $$ a part of the equation and the ability to enjoy the object in the immediate present. Thx, gl
