I don't post often, but I follow the posts here fairly closely. Not sure if others have seen this tumblr site, but I thought it was fairly hysterical and worth sharing after a busy week. I think it's also a good reminder not to take things too seriously.
Hopefully no one will be offended by this -- again, it's just for fun. (I'm in no way connected to the site, and it's not selling anything.)

I agree Woody. But it's...
I agree Woody. But it's hard not to love "F your thing that says EAT in your kitchen."
I'm not sure where the creator of the site is coming from, but I have a feeling it's more about the ubiquity of mid-century classic pieces in contemporary interiors. It's almost like every modern room MUST have an Egg chair, Nelson bench, etc., because that's "on trend" right now. (I don't have an issue with this, by the way, because I love all these pieces and I love seeing more of them.)
I disagree
I think the site is more about contemporary decor trends in general (e.g. frame clusters, taxidermy, wall decals, old bird cages, etc.). It's unfortunate that modern classic furniture pieces happen to be part of or overlap with some of those trends (or decorator's sense of "style") as well.
"EAT" was funny
but the rest just seems pointless to me.
What's he trying to say... That interior-design cliches exist? Big deal.
And if that IS all that he's trying to say, he could do it a lot better. I mean, there are HUNDREDS of photos on the web of generically-styled loft apartments in which the Noguchi coffee table is the only standout design. He could have used one of THOSE rooms for his titular photo, rather than a spectacular room in which the furniture -- which includes a Conoid bench, FFS -- is perfectly integrated with the table.
Oh, and how come he knows the names of the most conventional mainstream midcentury furniture designs, but not the name of a single other thing? That's weird. Does he work at DWR?
