Hi all
I know this is a long shot, but figured I"d ask...
I'm restoring a France and Daverkosen chair and was wondering if anyone has ever taken a peek at the brass hardware holding the seat back to the sides?
I'm not sure if there should be a brass rod of sorts that would attach to the bracket and fit in the hole on the sides. Someone used a cut bolt on mine and it was loosely placed in the armrest hole and wobbling inside the back bracket elongating it. I think
I did find some photos online and they show a brass washer that's missing on mine but not sure of the internal workings.
Here are a couple of photos of what was in my chair 🙂

Do you have the original
hardware intact on the other side?
It seems like it wouldn't be too dificult to replicate it, though the undersized make-do threaded rod looks like it chewed up the teak a bit.
I have scraps of various diameter brass rod and other shapes in my shop. Lemme know if you want any. I'm in the US.
