Hi all,
Is there any difference in design between the Eames versions of Herman Miller and Vitra?
And do any of you know whether Herman Miller ever published a Ea 117 with a leg base of 4 legs and wheels.

I guess someone else on this ...
I guess someone else on this forum already said: "know your shit" So I am studying.
So far I have found out that the Eames Ea117 is not a Herman Miller, but a Vitra. Miller does not use a EA-code.
But I still don't know whether there are any design-differences between the American Herman Miller and the European Vitra.

There are differences between Vitra furniture and Herman Miller and we have talked about it many times on this forum, it appears the most prominent one is the different bases on the Eames Lounge chair here in America we call it 670 and 671 and the bases for Vitra are the star bases used on the original aluminum group that Eames introduced in 1958

This
Is a subject I know very little about
other than..
A friend of mine has both HM and Vitra aluminium Eames chairs, and I noticed the pitch on the arms varies slightly between some of them when they're round her dining table
(they're usually scattered around her house, but she has an amazing 10 feet wide dining table which can accomodate a lot of chairs, and guests )
