Ernest Race Antilope chair - is this a prototype?  

The base is all wrong
I can't claim to be an expert in this design. But the odds of it being a prototype compared to being a fake aren't good, obviously.

The bent and flattened foot is not a manufactured solution.

The problem is there is no way of knowing if it is a prototype, inspired by yes and made by someone with great skill as the bending of the metal is not for the home diyer. It could have been made to run along side the antelope but in the end I think you will never know, if it did not cost and arm and a leg keep it and maybe you will find out in the future?
