Thanks, it turned out much...
Thanks, it turned out much better than I was anticipating. Perhaps looking at the drab wood finish and missing cane for six months lowered my expectations.
I also tend to acquire a greater appreciation for various Danish wood chair designs while getting up close and personal with them during the restoration process. It's then fun to try and capture certain curves and details through closeup photography, which have a different presence when viewed at a larger scale.
Anyway, the chair is back upstairs in the bedroom, and was greeted with a wide smile from me when I woke up this morning.

As I recall it,
the earliest Round Chair had a different finger joint to the arm than the eventual detail. What joint has this chair ? According to one account, the wrapped back was introduced in part to hide the early joint . . .

Tchp, I just put it up on eBay yesterday after getting the cane replacements that I needed.
Sdr, the back cane was in good shape so I never unwrapped it to find out.

Thanks. I have two of the same chair that I plan to restore. I will keep my eye on the auction as I could use a new front stretcher, and a chunk of the curved cross-piece with the Johannes Hansen mark is broken off of one of mine. It would also help to have the woven seat, since it would show me how to do that as well when I re-weave mine (all my seat caning is missing).
