Hey guys,
I have two of the Herman Miller Eames shell chairs on swivel bases with casters. One of the bases has the simple fixed post. The other base has a collar which allows for height adjustment. Is one of them considered more desirable or reliable over the other? I've seen both before but the fixed height seems more common.

Thanks!
Austin

fixed height base translates better to contemporary household use, stationary swivel most desirable of the contract bases
adjustable height may provide improved comfort for the office
more parts, particularly moving ones= more opportunities for failure I reckon

Ok thanks. I only have room to keep one so I guess I'll keep the fixed height one then.
Thanks!
