Friend saw this at an antique type dealer. Said it was built in 2000.

Anyone know if it's authentic, and if so, what kind of leather (or vinyl) is that?

Ask the seller on eBay.
I think it's the blue kind of leather.

i just bought that chair ...
i just bought that chair for 600 on ebay . i am recovering in Edelmen leather that chair was made after 1975. the leather is a smooth cowhide. It has a five star base mine has a a 4 star base . and i wanted to change it to the five star but I was told it would diminish the value . nice looking .
