up to speed on my tailoring. I'd suggest a good local maker. I love the fabric. You might find a material printed to look like granite (salt-and-pepper, or pink or light green ?) to make a tie-and-cumberbund set. The vest could be a nice light gray corduroy . . .
Shoes and bag are at your discretion. Black alligator ?

All of the news I've been...
All of the news I've been hearing is that it's "DWR Exclusive" but from what I've figured out it looks like DWR got the first production batch, so if you want it anytime between now and twelve weeks you have to buy it from them.
I like it. I know a lot don't, but I appreciate the concept behind it and the engineering required to make it work. From the product shots the walnut looks really boring though, so I'd have to go with palisander.
My main issue is that the geometry of the new eiffel and dowel bases is different than the vintage ones, so it wouldn't look right mixed together. Does anyone here know if it's possible to attach a new-production shell to a vintage base?

wooden shock mounts
The local herman miller rep brought one of these into our office a few weeks ago. The overall finish does appear a little like plastic. What I found odd was the use of wooden shock mounts. See pic below...
