Spotted this very nice Danish rosewood circular dining table today. Good original condition, some fading. Probably a little highly priced for me, but before I definitely say no, I thought I'd try and learn more.
Made by Dyrlund, with extension leaves which pull out the fold round the table..see link.
I'd appreciate input on the age of the table ? Designer if known ? and desirability ?

Well, I suppose the question ...
Well, I suppose the question wasn't so much about actual cost as I'll have to determine that when my next pay cheque comes in. I was more concerned with the vintage of the table and possible designer if known ?
As for the colour difference, I like that contrast in extension leaves. Gives it a good, honest, vintage feel. I can't stand furniture which has been restored, or worse, over restored. Most of my small and modest collection of furniture is in original condition and it's that mellow feel and the knock and bumps which have actually seen me pay through the nose for the odd item.
Which brings me onto 1st Dibbs. Don't you just love that website.

I've added a message to the ads section but hope it is ok to mention here as well...
Thanks,

Dyrlund own design
Hi Fanny
That table is superb whereever it turns up. Yours too Ben
The design is one of Dyrlunds own and I have spoken to them in the past about who in particular but they declined to answer and simply said they have no plans to engage in identification which I thought a bit odd.
The tables colour is also important in the lighter top and darker leaves.
If you recolour the top to match the leaves it is painfully obvious and something i personally love not to do.
There should be a difference to show the age of the table.
but thats my oppinion.
