Does this contract seem fair?  

I am a young designer just starting out and found a manufacturer who will produce my chair and table design out of quality wood for a deposit of $3,000. They expect to sell each item for at least $3,000 and offered me a contract that only gives me 4% of the sales and cash credit towards future work with them. We both maintain ownership but they agreed to do the marketing and put it on their established website. Does this sound fair to you? I understand that because I don't have a name that I don't have many options, but what is the average/fair percentage a designer should earn just starting out?
