dansk brief history
dansk was founded in the 1950's by american ted nierenberg who sold danish tableware mostly designs by danish designer jens quistgaard. the early vintage staved teak pieces and enameled kobenstyle cookware would have the duck logo and label made in denmark/danmark and some later pieces made in france. the company brand name was sold in the 1980's.

Dansk archive ?
Dansk customer service has replied to my request for information on the four ducks logo, thus:
"Dansk was aquired by Lenox in the early 1980's. Not all of the archive information was forwarded. Unfortunately we do not have the information to give you."
I wonder if Ted Nierenberg's family has the rest?
I came across this site today...
I came across this site today, which gives a good brief history of the Kobenstyle line. While it doesn't give the date when the four ducks logo discontinued, it does make a statement (unreferenced) that Dansk standardized their logo to a universal four ducks mark for all lines in (or around) 1959.
This would help to establish before and after dates for various early pieces for many lines. For example, the football-shaped "STAVED TEAK" mark would therefore indicate a piece made in or before 1959.
Does anyone have any documentation that would support this 1959 claim?
