Does anyone know who provided fabric for France and sons circa mid 50's? I have a Hvidt and Molgaard sofa, love the fabric and would like the same if it still exists. It does not match any of the classic Maharam samples I have. Thanks

Byron from gabriel
Is the only fabric i have been able to find which closely resembles the flora baltica and copenhagen which were in the original france and son fabric list.
It has the mottled look that you get on older hvidt daybeds.
This is wegners chair done in the black byron

I've got a scrap of tonus that is really close to the original on a France and son chair.
Like the new logo Simon, did you do it yourself?

The actual fabric
Here is the fabric in question that I would love to match. I am not hoping really, but it would be great. Thanks for all your input so far.

I see
It is the same animal as mine. The photo may be adding some pronounced striping, but if not, it seems to be a different fabric. On mine the diagonal weave is very fine (small). You see no texture or weave unless you get right up on it. Lucky for you that is not in the color range I am thinking about. You are safe from having me show up with a seam ripper.

Ah
The three seater, is as you say, a heavy 'twill'.
The two seater, however, is exactly the same fabric as yours.
