I hope no one is disappointed, but this ID thread actually provides an ID rather than asking for one.
I had bought a teak boomerang rocking chair about 1 1/2 years ago, and could never ID it. There were a few instances of it online, but all were unmarked. My only clues that it was Danish was the styling and the fact that I knew a dealer that had container-imported one from Denmark.
I love the simple design of this rocking chair, with the boomerang form providing rocker, seat, and backrest support.
Anyway, I was doing another search today and stumbled across a recently-expired Australian eBay listing for this chair design that still had pictures in it (see below). Lo and behold, this particular chair just happened to have a maker mark on the underside, which is (drum roll). . . Mogens Kold.
It's nice to finally have a ID after 1 1/2 years. It would also be nice if there was an easy way to have Furnitureindex or Decopedia update their databases.

No problem.
Much of what I know came from this site, so always happy to give back when applicable.

Interesting, thanks for posting.
I have seen many of these over the years and I think there are a few ID threads related to this design on here.
Nice to finally put it to bed.

Great!
Thank you, I've seen it attributed to everybody from Adrian Pearsall to Georg Jensen!

Cool!
Never seen that before. Thanks for sharing the ID.
And I when you show me that rocker, and say "Mogens Kold," there is a designer's name which comes to mind immediately. I hesitate to say it because it will add to the Internet echo chamber. And I bet every commenter already knows it anyway. But it looks like it could be his work.
And Mogens Kold was really unreliable about marking their product.

Let the echoes begin!
Please don't be so cryptic, lief. Who are you talking about?

While some of Arne...
While some of Arne Hovmand-Olson's best work did come through MK, there were also a few other designers that did designs for them. In addition, other similar mobelfabriks employed in-house uncredited designers who created pieces in the style of the more famous designers. Therefore, I too would stop short of extending the attribution to AHO. I'm quite happy to have a stunning dining table by him through his own company, which I assume came after MK. That one is clearly marked with his name.

Garlandre: what cdsilva just...
Garlandre: what cdsilva just said. And I would be expecting a good chance that one day I might find documentation to support that hunch. But it isn't out there in the public knowledge yet.
Sorry to be cryptic. I started the day looking a poorly forged manufacturer's receipts for what is actually an authentic piece so I am extra cynical today.
Edit: damn autocorrect.

Hovmand Olsen solid attribution?
Hi,
Following the track, does anyone have solid info that could attribute this sofa to Arne Hovmand Olsen?
It bears the Mogens Kold logo.
A sectional version of this has recently been advertised and sold as AHO design.
In a 3 seater version, I only saw it sold twice in the past 5 years.
Also seen a lounge chair and a 2 seaters version.
Seems like a rare model.
Anyway, the features doesn't match exactly any other piece I saw attributed to AHO.
Considering how rare, and how much I liked its shape, some know what I finally did...
Cheers

I don't maybe someone here do...
I don't maybe someone here does. I am pretty sure it is in any documentation publicly visible on the internet.
Have you contacted the person who advertised and sold it as AHO to see if they have or had any documentation?

question sent
I'll let you know if the dealer have an info to provide.
In the meantime, here's the link to the sectionnal version photo.
PS : Leif, have you seen my question about BLO over shellac in the "cado wall rail jig" thread ?
I'm very eager to learn.
Next time, I'll plan to test your artist paint method with bookends we'll woodwork to add to the wall unit.
Cheers

Wow finally
Nice work. I have often wondered about that chair. I agree, it is lovely. Any clue about the designer? Leif still won't talk?

cdsilva immediately said the...
cdsilva immediately said the name that I was thinking of. And I have NOTHING to prove it. The rocker just looks like his work and he designed for MK.
