I found two neat little salt and pepper shakers. They are roughly cone shaped, about three inches tall, with the top 2.5 inches of the cone being stainless steel. The base of the cone, which reduces in diameter a bit, is wood. The salt shaker has five holes at the point of the cone. The pepper shaker has one hole at the point of the cone. The plastic plug in the bottom reads AB.
Who or what is AB? And does anyone have any idea who might have designed these?
They are pleasing to look at.
They do not tip over.
They feel good in the hand.
They are amazingly efficient in use of material.
They are one of the purest examples of Danish modern design I have ever seen. The use an essentially abstract conic form made mostly of stainless steel and humanize the steel and abstract form language with the wooden base.
Elegant design in the best sense of the word elegant.
