I want the DWR Nesta rug, but not the DWR price. Does anyone know of a rug similar to this for less than $500? I'm looking for a rug about 4'x6'.

How about a nice retro Rya?
Commonly found in 4x6 size on Ebay,often for much less $$

That is felted wool. Try googling "felted wool shag rug" (without quotes).
They were really popular a few years ago after DWR's first came out. I think you could get them on Overstock. I got one at a junk auction for $2, and usually they don't show up there until they become affordable to the masses (who then tire of them and consign them to junk auctions). Mine is a cheaper quality rug---lovely soft wool, but dyed after looming. The dye did not penetrate the felt all the way, which I state here only to show that there were cheap versions made.
Anyway. It's felted wool. (I've also thought about shearing my super-thick flokati---also felted wool--- to get that look, but even though it's a thick flokati, I don't think it would be so thick once shorn.)
