I think there are few thread with respect to this topic of rugs. I am thinking of buying this one. Has anyone ever tried it or is it worth it? Look wise it really looks great, just need some suggestions.

ok..
Frankly, I think that the rug looks rather busy. Is the same rug manufactured in a patchwork using a single color? I'm not sure of the placement your rug, but by all means...if you eat red meat, don't put this rug under the dining room table.
Best,
Aunt Mark

Hi
In my opinion, if you want to use cowhide, just use a whole hide instead. It is much more natural in appearance and feel.
I am not really a fan of checkerboard patterns in general either.

As you said, it looks great.

If your lounging experience tends to fall all the way to the floor though, this type of rug isn't great to lay on.
For floor comfort, I prefer low pile tufted and medium pile shag rugs.

I once had a B&W checkerboard
kitchen floor. Huge mistake. HUGE.
The white showed every bit of dirt and the black showed all the light-colored crumbs and lint. It always looked bad except for maybe the first half hour after cleaning it.
Granted, the hair on a cowhide rug would hide some crud, but still--I'd never do it again in any material.
Plus, what everyone else said.
And also, leather patchwork always looks cheap to me, because it usually is. A lot of it is an economical way to use up scraps that would otherwise be thrown out. That's what I see when I look at any patchwork leather, even if the patchwork element is integral to the design.
