Eames + paint stripper = No no?
I have been offered two fibreglass LAR Eames chairs as a compensation for a job I?ve recently done. They have both been painted twice, so the fibreglass structure is completely gone.
I?m suspecting paint thinner to be to week for this job, so I?m considering using paint stripper instead. Will this harm the chair in any way? If so, what is a good alternative to this?

I would use orange glow. it...
I would use orange glow. it is used to strip wood but is non toxic or harmful to skin...its made out of concentrated oranges essentially. it stripes finish off furniture all right you just brush it on and let it sit for a few hours your paint will bubble and you simply wipe it off...I have never done this on a shell but im sure it would work and more than likely not damage the shell.
woops typo but yeah the orang...
woops typo but yeah the orange glo stuff ive used just not on plastics I do know it has taken paint off wood for me in the past and it is not nearly as harsh as most chemical based strippers. most people go straight for the harsh chemical based products but they are really over kill on most things including your lungs.
PS: the orange glow to my knowledge is non flammable and you do not need a well ventilated area to use it. Its strong so if you can its a good idea but not necessary.
How to get at the dirt in the fibers?
Hi, I'm trying to clean and restore 3 yellow/tan shells and they have a lot of dirt in the fibers. How should I get at them? Someone mentioned pickling agents. Anyone know what those are? I have had some success with sanding but I don't wanna sand until the cows come home and spoil my first one. I'm grateful for your advice!

Pickling Agents
Hi, what pickling agents do you mean? I have a lot of dirt in the fibers too. How long should I sand? This is a picture of before I started. I have made slight progress with sanding.
Thanks.
