Scandinavian Mid Century Side Table

This Side Table is made of Cherry wood with a formica top. It’s design is strongly influenced by the work of Severin Hansen who produced almost identical pieces in rosewood for Haslev Company. The slick shaped cherry wood legs with precise detailing and the layered formica top are the main design feature – a minimalist language so typical for Scandinavian designers. This table is in great vintage condition. It has been polished out by hand in a recent restoration using original techniques and materials. Shellac and Nitro varnishes were used to achieve the beautiful gloss finish on the wooden surface. There is some wear and tear on the formica table top and also the colour of the formica has faded slightly over the years.
