Does anyone know where I might find the full text of this chaps essay which in part states "austerity of line became poverty of form"?

I do not know where you could find it in translation but I am quite sure it is a quote of his book : "Autrement dit Ecrits 1950-2001".
I can not find it that quickly but I remember having read it and it is the only book I have from Claude Schnaidt.

Thanks Koen, I've searched high and low, it may have been a speech come to think of it, the web isn't the goldmine its said to be, theres very litle on the Ulm school either

If you are researching Ulm's HfU, I could help you out...remember Claude Schnaidt and some of his Swiss collegues were not what you call exemplary students...He became a very good teacher although you had to have good nerves.
Can you tell me more about your interest in Ulm and Schnaidt? He also wrote another book "The stone age" Unfortunately I have not read it.

I'm just after general info, specifically the Schnaidt essay/speech, from the little I know it wasn't a great suceess but 'form + zweck' (which I've only just discovered) have an issue dedicated to Ulm which I'll buy, amazing magazine, not just pretty pictures and big dollar signs, gotta go to an auction! thanks again Koen, if you ever come across that particular essay in english please let me know, Heath
