A comment in one of the recent threads reminded me that I've been meaning to post photos of several chrome chairs I've purchased recently. Two are by Lloyd Loom / Lloyd Manufacturing, two are unknown, and I believe the other is Thayer Coggin. I think linking to my Flickr page is the easiest way to view them, since there are 8 photos total. Although they're all different, I like all of these -- what do others think? Are there any you particularly like or dislike? If anyone knows anything about the unidentified chairs (especially the red one with the tufted upholstery and ottoman), I'd love to know.

Also, with regard to the "springer" chair, I've generally seen this attributed to KEM Weber -- does anyone know if that is accurate?

Lastly, the chrome rocker with the oval arms/supports -- I generally see this attributed to Milo Baughman, but I have also seen several Italian chairs that are very similar. This one has no tags, but looks to me like the Baughman version.

Please remember I'm new at this, so it's very likely that I've either identified something incorrectly or made some other mistake. Please correct me where necessary. Thanks.

Frank & son chair
I also own a sofa by Frank & son...mine didn't have the label and it took me a complete year to ID it: in fact I identified it only two weeks ago...It's strange that you came up with that photo just after this short period... I post a thread last year about these: search in the forum "hamacbleu". The thread was called "70's furnitures ID" You will see the whole set...
I wrote last week to Frank and Son, Inc. about these... M. Sanderson, who is the son of the person (I don't know is name) that came up with the design, told me that they we're made most prabably in Livermore, KY, at the end of the 60's. They we're called "the sling group", because of the shape of the seat. That same seat was also used, not only with chrome ends, but also with spanish influenced ends...(don't know if it was wood)
....I really like that design...Congratulations on your collection!

Milo Baughman
...As for the Milo Baughman sofa, I may be wrong, but I think the original one has a rounder seat and it doesn't have the 2 chrome bars in the bottom. It may be inspired though, by Baughman, like the Frank & son chair...

Frank & Son Chair
Thanks so much for the information hamacbleu. There seems to be very little available online about this manufacturer/retailer, and I wasn't sure if the existing "Frank & Son, Inc." furniture company (that manufactures hospitality furniture) was the same company -- but from your email to them, it sounds like that is the case.
The only other mention I can find of them online is an article in Popular Science magazine from October 1978, where they're mentioned in a list of sources for new "knockdown" furniture. (The article is short but kind of interesting -- it's available on Google Books.)
I really like your sofa, by the way! I find the chair and ottoman very comfortable, and I'm sure the sofa is as well. I've attached two additional photos, one showing the chair and one showing the tag. The chair is not nearly as clean or shiny as it appears in the photos. It's actually a little grungy. The red is also not as pink as it appears.

Frank & son.
Thanks for the link of the magazine!, i'll definetely check that out... and yes, Frank & son began to specialize in hospitality furnitures at the beginning of the 80's (check the "about" us section of their site) Thanks for the photo: (I can now clearly see that the screws of my sofa are probably not the original ones...)
