Hi --

While thrifting and estate saling, I've found a couple mid-century/Danish-esque chairs that I'm having trouble IDing. The first is a real mystery to me--I've found nothing similar. There are no markings whatsoever. The interior of the seat appears to be a bent plywood frame with straps to support the (now crumbling) foam.

The second appears similar to some of Ib Kofod-Larsen's designs for Selig, but the chair lacks the Selig medallion or any manufacturer markings. The seat has wooden pegs that fit into holes in the frame; it can be adjusted in three different positions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If more photos would help,...
If more photos would help, let me know. I'd love any ideas as to provenance. With respect to the second chair, it's become a fixture in our living room and I love the lines, although not the upholstery.
The other chair is actually one of a pair--they're total fixers, in that the wood, upholstery and foam all needs replacing or refinishing--and in all likelihood I'll probably sell them. The big question to me is, is it worth it to have them refinished, or should I cut my losses?

They are both most likely...
They are both most likely American knock offs. The top one reminds me a little of the Carter Bros scoop chair or really early Baughman (but not). Chair #2 is not Selig. Are there any markings on the white straps?

Thanks for your reply,...
Thanks for your reply, Honus.
The straps are Fagas straps that I purchased -- the frame was found w/o straps.
This chair appears identical to this one:

and
this one:

Is this really just mis-representation then? The arm style appears identical to Selig #548-18 (IKL recliner.)

I suppose...
they could be Larsen, but as far as I know most Selig pieces, even early ones, were marked with the medallion. I find it a little strange that the 1stibs one isn't marked.
