Nice
I'm with Tynellbuyer. Then get some new Fagas straps for the seat and it will be a beautiful chair.

In My Opinion
the stripping of this chair has resulted a patchy finish and the application of any oil or varnish will only make this even more pronounced, and if it has been dipped (which it looks like)the joints will also be compromised

Clearly, I've been fucking...
Clearly, I've been fucking the wrong way for many years. So in order to fuck something the right way, I've got to dip it in caustic soda? I wish my wife would have just told me that was the right way to do it. Boy is she in for a special treat tonight. Should I use Mountain Dew, Coke or Pepsi....not sure which is the most caustic?
(Sorry folks, I couldn;t help myself)

if you
dont end up on youtube, americas wildest videos or somthing similar I will be amazed.
Man bathes wife in caustic sode before humping her to death!
Dont slide off ofcause, it's going to get sticky.
AS FOR THE CHAIR.
I agreed that with a LOT of TLC you COULD possible rescue that and give it some form of life. But ask yourself
What kind of cruel life would it be. Scarred and tormented never to be beautiful once more. Those hastily discarded memories of being the pride of a home and not holding on to them for longer OHHHHH the pain.
And yeah the glue is likely to be weakend so ask your self neigh demand an aswer from your deepest self. Is it really worth it??

It has not...
... been dipped, just a partial sanding and there are tape marks on the legs whihc is why it looks bad in the photo, so I reckon i'm in luck - also the chair doesn't seem to be glued together as it dismantles and is attached with metal fixings which slot into each other.
I was hoping someone could just identify the chair rather than tell me what to do with it?
There's also a worn brown sticker which looks like it says 'Cepta'? (Does this just mean it's certified as a pass?)
I agree it looks like an Ole Wanscher but the arm rest detail differs from the Ole chairs I have seen so i'm not 100% sure?

If
Simon says it's Ole Wanscher for France & Son then you can bet it is.

While the side frames
may indeed detach from the rest, they are themselves composed of four pieces of wood, which of course have glued joints where they meet. . .
I'm glad to hear the piece wasn't dipped.

Thanks
for your help.
Can anyone also recommend a stained varnish that would match the original?
