Hello all,

i am currently designing an ergonomic bucket for the garden, however i need it to be environmentally friendly and cheap but at the same time have enough strength to take the load created by garden waste, i was thinking of PE, but i get the feeling that wont actually have enough tensile strength, any suggestions would be appreciated

cheers

Rubber
Recycled tires... It's been done before, but perhaps you could create a better design.

Is this maybe not a product for the sake of it? I do a bit of gardening now and then and never needed a dedicated 'gardening bucket', theres usually something hanging around that will do double duty, hands, an old container from the nursery, watering can or wheel barrow.
Perhaps one good steel or aluminium milking style bucket is all thats required for heavy duty household tasks?

well the idea of the product, is a 're-design' of a wheelbarrow . . . the bucket in question would act as the barrow to store garden waste and is just a part of the design, however it would be detachable from the actual steel frame. Therefore the bucket would need properties the same as modern day plastic wheelbarrows, however its just choosing the correct material to do the job, this is why i think although PE is cheap, it may not have the required strength
