but it doesn't help (for authentication) that the seat is not positioned correctly on the base.
It's the first time I've seen those attachments though.

I am based in Bromley, South East london. Can you tell me where you have Bertoia chairs with these mounts? I have not been able to find any.

I've restored over 250 bertoia sides chairs in the past few years and I've never seen a seat-to-base connection like that. The spacing of the wire seems to be off slightly too.

These were used a lot in the UK. It's likely the chair was made in the UK for Knoll, it isn't a repro.

indeed, a quick look on ebay.co.uk shows multiple chairs with those mounts that look just like yours (I'm not trying to make a point about authenticity, but about them being indeed widespread in the UK)

I have looked on ebay and found chairs with the same mounts but I cannot be sure they are Knoll. Could you say why you think they are Knoll? It would be very helpful.

I have just recently bought a bertoia chair with these mounts. Was there any confirmation that these chairs were genuine? I've seen so many different knoll mounts on old and new versions that I'm inclined to believe that as long as the vertical wires and horizontal wires all sit atop of the outer edge (except the front), and 13 holes up top, then it is genuine.
