lucky you!...
I will have to borrow it in the library, but I am as much looking forward to reading it as you are. Much has been written and said about the Bauhaus and for a long time the division between East and West Germany has kept interested people away from the original material. So any new publication, especially by people as qualified as Barry Bergdoll and Leah Dickerman will have three major advantages, one is of course the large collection of the MoMA itself (in part thanks to Lilly Reich's life long commitment to Mies van der Rohe and his archives) the second being the fall of the Berlin wall and the third, and to some extend the most overlooked one is I think time...I think it was our former ambassador to the U.S. who, when asked why he waited so long for writing his memoires, aswered. I had to wait untill a number of people were death.
I think in the case of the Bauhaus, time is an important factor to get to the essence.
Enjoy your read!
