Refinished eames walnut stool, stripped varnish finish, sanded with 220 grade sand paper, danish oil, 0000 steel wool, more danish oil and steel wool and finally paste wax.

Nice work.
A much more appropriate appearance, IMO, and I like that you applied wax, too.

Now just keep it out
of direct sunlight and try to avoid sudden or large swings in temperature and relative humidity.
These stools are constructed in such a way that cross-grain expansion/contraction are restricted by alternating perpendicular laminations. Resulting splits are common and possibly unavoidable in many cases, but a stable environment will help.
