Azurechicken, Please some help with a hotel in Austin

Hi AzC,

My hubby and I are going to take a mini vacation in Austin at the begining of May. We wanted to stay at either the Austin Motel or the Hotel San Jose, but both are booked up for a weding that weekend (4-8May) We wanted to stay in the SoCo area and not in a big chain or an expensive place. Any suggestions? Thanks

Both of the ones you mention are very good,famed designer K.Rashids "party" was at the San Jose, he is quite tall and friendly.I will get back to you on this, you might check back with them.Just ended south by southwest BIG music blowout,video rentals for me a nightmare (as usual)...music people think furniture is for use...

I've got some other friends looking as well (music people), but they're all bushed from the 'do' last week and not helping much. We've stayed at the Austin Motel before and really liked it. Both places are full up with a big wedding party, so we probably won't have the luck to get a last minute cancellation. So, I have ended up booking a room at Austin's Inn on Pearl, Really just so we have somewhere to stay in the right neighborhood, the place really isn't our style. But if nothing better pops up it'll do. Do you have a store we can come visit? I'd love to see all your delightful eclectic ideas in real life.
