who that
i am confused at what you are trying to say.... The DCM and the series 7 could be far off cousins they both have chrome legs (they are suppose to.. I have never seen a powder coated one) and most have wood seats some are painted with various colors the DCW is the small version of the LCW for dinning and sitting around ( much more clunky ) then the DCM or the series 7 chair

Sorry for the confusion
What I was saying is that I find Series 7 to be comfortable. And that I have not seen the new ones with powder coated legs, only chrome.
I know all about the Eames DCM and LCW and I think they are spectacularly comfortable. I was saying that the Series 7 is about as comfortable as the Eames DCM.
I'd heard a story that Jacobsen was influenced by the Eames design when he created his series of ply furniture - Ant, Series7, etc. I'm not sure if thats all true...but its a fun story.
Oh, and I think the Series 7 looks smashing in the new colors!

Wow i agree with you a new day!!!! I love the new colors in the LCW i think it is the coolest thing that Herman Miller has done in a long time....
I get my new chair on the 20th of July and i have not been so excited since I got my first 670 lounge chair years ago.

DCM
The Eames DCM is really comfortable, it almost doesn't fit with the commonly painfull dining chair. Is there a Room and Board in your area, they have store displays all the time for sale with a good markdown.

There is a Room and Board in SF, which is about 2 hours away from me. We got our bed and sofa there (still waiting on the sofa). But there's a DWR in San Jose, which is only about an hour away. I called them yesterday and they told me they don't sell their floor models. I can at least try both chairs though.
LRF, I'm not sure I'm reading your response correctly, but are you saying that you got some repro Series 7 chairs (like the ones at Room&Board) and you like them?
See, I'm in a position here where I can totally justify dropping some coin on a nice Saarinen table if I only drop $80 per chair. Of course, there would always be a part of me that would want real Series 7 chairs. I'm just surprised that R&B is selling repros...they mostly sell licensed Knoll/Eames and their own house brand.

I bought this on line with shipping 99.00 they are great and comfortable
the only difference is they don't have the black feet like fritz hansen and the seat is not curved up . ( I think that is why they are so much more comfortable, )

i bought these on line
You can check there are about 5 stores that sell these style chairs
I have never been to room and bored
cause we do not have them in this part of the country. I have the real series 7 in my home they are nice but almost 400 a chair if you want a nice chair and table I would go with these for the price you can not beat them

LRF, you're awesome...I'll put some thought into this, but these repros are looking really good.

That repro looks way off
Compared to vintage 3107s, most repros look way off to me, especially the one shown.
Here's one of my 1964 ones for comparison.
Check the curves.

DWR & Room and Board
Funny that you were told they don't sell store displays. I purchased a Sofa Compact and Nelson bench at Room and Board, at DWR I got a Multipot and have seen many other items, all were store displays. It was a random time of the year and not a year end clearance. Check Craigslist.org, DWR sells their store displays there too

you bet there is a big difference the Fritz Hansens have very sharp curves These are what they are a chair to look like the series 7 but not to infringe on Arne Jacobsens design patent ,
Fritz almost 400 these around 99 with shipping
I have the real ones and
I use these in the office breakroom
