The top in the first photo has an exaggerated shape but I'm pretty sure that's camera lens distortion.
What about it looks off to you?

The seams on either side of the seat area appear to continue over the seat edge and down the front edge of the chair. I believe that the stiching on the edges of the egg chair should be "wavy" as it is hand sewn. The piping on the ebay chair looks wrong and the edges too smooth. Although the chair is stamped Fritz Hansen on the base there appears to be no serial number that's supposed to be unique to the individual chair. I also think the seat label is a bit second rate.
I could be totally wrong but I think the chair does not appear to have much quality about it and I'm not sure that camera angle really explains the shape.

I agree that the perimeter looks machine stitched and it also looks a bit overstuffed. The welt is sitting down into the seam, like the foam is poufing up on either side of it.
The inside seat seams are supposed to be like that, I'm pretty sure---they match up like that on the real ones in photos on authorized dealer sites, anyway.
Not sure about the fabric hang tag in the seam---it looks very, very close to me.
You can always ask Fritz Hansen to take a look! They have an entire page of their site dedicated to reporting fakes to them, so they do care about that stuff. (Though I see that Amazon has a lot of fakes listed---seems like Amazon would want to shut that down though maybe they don't give any more of a crap than Ebay does. Oh well...)

It's not the inside seams themselves but the way they waterfall over the front edge of the seat and continue down the chair. I did contact FH but got no reply. The point I'm trying to make is that most of the Egg copies/reproductions/lookee likees coming from China/Italy etc are easily identifiable and usually priced accordingly. This one is not cheap and if it is suspect takes faking to a whole new level.
