I wondered if anyone might help me with the identification of 8 chairs I would like to sell.
I felt pretty sure after research that they were by Hans Wegner, chair W2, but a reliable source has informed me they are infact by Arne Hovmand Olsen, made by Mogens Kold.
The chairs have papercord seats and unlike the W2 chair, they have no stretchers between front and back legs, the back rest although very similar to the W2 design, is more pronounced/pointed.
I have also noticed the join of the back rest and side supports is not straight, here it is more like a smooth dovetail joint.
If anyone can help / point me in the direction of a positive ID, I would really like to see an example of Hovmand Olsens chair, and find out more in order to satisfy my own interest and feel confident in my sale.
many thanks LuLu.

More pics...
Here's a few more.
Very similar to Wegner's chairs W2's, but the angle of the backrest is different and much sharper.
Love the multi-layered backrest showing through on the top!
They are manufactured by Mogens Kold - Denmark.
Hovmand Olsen designed a bit for them.

One of his more well known designs...
This picture shows one of Arne Hovmand Olsen's more famous designs.
You can see that the backrest is identical.

I sold a set of 8, incl. 2 carvers, for £1,600. Was sad to see them go as I really loved them and was very tempted to keep them!
