These chairs have been in my family since around 1972. My mother purchased them from someone and "recushioned" them. These are the cusions from 1972. However the wood and straps are original. The straps are still in VERY good shape. I read that Risom did not use leather for straps post WWII because of restrictions and he used canvas type strapping from paracutes. I also read that he used birch instead of teak, however the tight grain of the wood looks to be teak to me. Can someone help me with this question? I would appreciate any information on Jens Risom or other strap chair designers.
thanks

I propose
a new DA contest:
"How little can I show of my chair/lamp/sofa/pet rock and still expect answers to my questions ?"
The ones with no photos at all are instant winners, of course.

I don't
think you're stupid. Just ignore the other kids. They play rough but must be excused because they are quite knowledgeable and discerning, if not polite 😉

No one called the OP "stupid".
I'm guessing that SDR was complaining that the three photos --all shot from the same monotonous aerial perspective-- fail to relay much information about the chair she's asking about.
Stupid... no. Bad photographer... YES!
