I am personally
familiar with a shockingly limited number of classic modernist chair designs. This is one I have enjoyed; for an un-upholstered all-metal chair it is delightfully comfortable. An architecture office I worked in c. 1970 had some of these, in beige.
Unlike the Eiffel base (for instance) here we have the bare minimum of material arranged for the maximum of sturgidity*.

The art school I attended in the '70's had them everywhere and 40 of them stacked are ridiculously heavy, yet surprisingly easy to move about on the special dollies.
