Pick up to aalto stools today for £10 any idea's no how to age ? They're a bit shabby is it worth doing them up, any help on how to do so without f-ing them up would be great

Looks very nice to me. I've never restored anything like these, but I would think perhaps a light hand sanding and staining could have them looking great.

Postwar Aalto pieces (which these are) have a quite thick clear cellulose finish, so 'light sanding' will just scuff the finish and 'staining' will result in the stain falling off because the impermeable finish is still there....You can either strip and refinish or burnish the finish thats already there to clean it and give it a bit of a shine.

I would leave as I agree they do have a nice patina just wasn't sure if they where to bad to sell on if I decided to , no markings to bottom

I would leave them as is. They will certainly fetch more than $10 each (?) if you decide to re-sell them.

It's a stool, a utilitarian object that is also beautiful. It's okay to show evidence of utility. Do you "restore" your hammers?

Patina, patina.
If you want fresh and new, buy new and shelf it and don't use it.
Clean it. Fine if soiled and dirty.
