I'm pretty new to this forum, and I hope it's alright to start another thread on the Aalto stool 60. I learned a lot from the others, but I think I have a slightly different animal here.

This stool has four screws like Lucifer Sum's stool in photos posted in Dec '08 but unlike Lucifer's it has Made in Sweden mark. I hope you can see from the photos that it has a warm tone; someone might have stained it, but it didn't bleed into the felt stoppers, so maybe not. I have another stool, which has the same profile and Sweden mark but it a completely different tone. I can post photos of the others, which in addition to the color of wood, have a lot of loss in the top veneer, so might be instructive.

Thanks for your comments!

Not Aalto
But a nice vintage copy. You are right, it has been stained. Should be a light birch color (usually with a honey patina from age). I've had these before, and they are nice well made stools and quite useful, but not Aalto.

Hmmm
I was under the impression that these were early Aalto pieces? There is the patented leg design, and his early works were manufactured in Sweden.
