I picked up these chairs over 10 years ago at a garage sale. Had no idea what they were or who Eero Aarnio was at that time but I liked them so I bought them. There were three and. not wanting to have an odd number, I bought two. Apparently these were used in the waiting room at the place of business of the home owner. AT ANY RATE, I have never been able to find any good information about them and wondered if anyone here has any experience with these. These are one of those, "on the fence" items at my house, items that I would part with if I could find any interest. So, any ideas?
I prefer yours.
I see a common theme...

.
I have about 5 of the lower armchairs and 3 or 4 sofas from this range, I got some information from Aarnio through the manufacturer of the plastic stuff but not much, it was called the 'silver' collection. There were glass topped tables to go with them, a wood turner I know has a lot of it just sitting on his verandah rusting to pieces. As for Mobel Italia there is virtually nothing about them online.
Anyone have more information? I think Mobel Italia went bust ans sold the rights to an Australian manufacturer called Framac, I'll try and find the email.
Not my chairs but the same model, mine are a strange lacquered brass finish.
"Eero Aarnio saw the chairs in the photo you have sent to us via Adelta.
Here is what he remembered of them:
The chair in the photo belongs to the Silver Collection manifactured by
Mobel Italia in the 70s in Italy. This company was sold with its models to an Italian
company Zevi, which is famous of its brass products. I have not given any separate
permission for the brass version for Zevi. Zevi is most propably the
manifacturer of these chairs. I don´t know Framac Pty Ltd ."
Off to Wright...
So, I am taking these chairs up to Wright tomorrow. They are going to consign them for their Mass Modern auction in July. They said they are estimating them between $1000-$1500USD. I'd be extremely happy with anything in that ballpark. I can report back if anyone is interested.
