Saw this chair in a 1960 George Tanier catalogue that is for sale.

I have searched but no luck so far. Most of the furniture pieces in the catalogue have easily identifiable model codes,  mainly because I recognise the designs, but this chair is a mystery to me.

Anyone recognise it?

Now you are going to make me dig deep into my sources.  I’ve seen it.  Don’t recall if it was identified.  It looks quite a bit earlier than 1960.  My guess is that was pretty close to its last moment in the GT catalog.

Sisal cord, are other chairs materials also called that inaccurately?

Also, what is the product code naming conventions, I assume there's nothing to read into CR 126F?

From looking at various other early Tanier image captions I am pretty sure that the maker’s name is coherently abbreviated as CR and the model designation is 126F (Model number is 126 and F probably indicates something about the wood or finish or seat or whatever).

I don't know any Danish designers with those initials.

It would be the maker not designer. And somehow I wonder if it is a Swedish piece?

I see this was imported by George Tanier as early as 1955 in my sources.  In 1953 George left his job as the manager of a store in NYC called ‘Swedish Modern’ to found his own company. And especially in the early years he sold a lot of Swedish pieces.
