first let me appologize for giving to much trust to the dealer and theqwriter of the article i mentioned and added
second i found a article march 1962 in a respecred newspaper "trouw" ( 1 of te 4 big/large newspapers in the netherlands)wich supports the findings of Heringbone the article tells about the new line off Bovenkamp "Dansk Still Mobler" (i added a link before with foto's of the catalogue) and thet article mentions the names of the designers: " Arnold Madsen en Henry Schubell"

Nice find, wesemael! I already have a confirmation, that the chair in question is a Madsen and Schubell design, although the upholstery "does not seem original or correct". I will get the whole story in june. But I really wonder where the heck those wrong first names come from. And I bet that there is much more misinformation about other designers around. Maybe we should start a research program and systematically check the backgrounds of the lesser known designers and companies.

@herringbone my point is not that i was trying to make clear the was bovenkamp as i (and others) already did if you read back the whole tread
i was trying to help solve Leif's puzzle who is MS I think however that the chairs were produced by bovenkamp in tehe netherlands but also in denmark given teh alreay shown catalogue's
Serious sleuthing! This is/was why DA forums kill all the rest. People that give a shit about getting it right! I wish the forum would have come back to life before I had it reupholstered....original would have been ideal. Unfortunately only had what was on the chair (previously reupholstered-pictured is the 90’s monstrosity ) to work with.
@ ponyboy - You did a great job. And thanks for posting this photo. It‘s ... hillarious.

By the way: I like what happens when you enter „Schubell“ in the furniture index. You get four chairs, supposedly designed by Verner Madsen, Johan Madsen, Ib Madsen and Bjarne Madsen. Schubells name is given as either Hans Thyge, Acton or Boris. I get the feeling someone was making a joke here and nobody got it.

While doing research on your chair I found this sold listing on Lauritz.

Very different from the other Madsen and Schubell designs but as you can see includes a coffee table as part of the set.

@Herringbone Hi! You mentioned you’d get the whole story in June, just curious if you got any more information 😀
The chair which was originally going to be sold is now a permanent (unless something better comes along 😉) fixture in the living room.
I guess we all have to wait another few weeks for the story. My inquiry seems to have inspired Mr. Schubell to do a complete documentation of his fathers whole body of work. I sent him another E-mail about a week ago, because I had not heard anything from him. He wrote back that he had not fortotten me and that he was almost done with the danish version. As soon as that would be finished, he would translate it into English. He assured me that I would be among the first ones to get it. So I'll stay patient :). I'll let you all know as soon as I have something.
