Had the time to get some more pics and start a thread outside of the Last Thing Acquired one 😀 Thanks again for the work that’s been done already in researching this!
I assume that Bjarne Madsen and Hans Thyge Schubell and Ib Madsen and Acton Schubell are identical. Of course I didn't find proof although I dug a little. Their business in Hvidore is only ever referred to as Madsen og Schubell snedkerie. But the furniture which is associated to all the names is basically the same.
My guess: They just changed their names for whatever reasons. Maybe for marketing reasons? Fun fact: Acton is not the most comon name. Among the few known people and personae with this name is Acton Bell - which was the pseudonym of the 19th century novelist Anne Brontë. Maybe Hans Thyge Schubell was an avid reader of Victorian literature? Sorry if I'm just rambling ...

Link below to instagram/deskgram post; A bit hard to decipher, as I think it is written by someone whose first language is not English or it has been translated and something has been "lost in translation".

I notice you have liked this posting or they like you!!
Maybe you could ask them to clarify the name conundrum/confusion re; Madsen and Schubell, as I do not have an instagram account.

@ all interested parties.
Image of a Furniture Forum catalogue showing a George Tanier advert. Notice Madsen and Schubell as designers with MS 6 as an item / possibly model number ( NB:different chairs to OP's)

Me again; (seriously!the editing window is very short)
I have found a few closed auctions for chairs attributed to Madsen and Schubell. They have the same patent number, as on Ponyboy's chair, on the tilt mechanism and one also has the "Made in Denmark by MS label sewn into the upholstery. Reposting image from other thread of label.
In the meantime, I have fired off a couple of e-mails to a number of websites/bloggers who might be able to give more info; will let you know if I get replies.

I contacted some Schubells in Denmark. Maybe I find someone from the family. I let you know.

The Schubell family got back to me. I still don't know much, but what I can say is: Schubell's first name was neither Hans Thyge nor Acton. It was Henry. His son wrote there were no designers with said names under the Madsen and Schubell brand.
I asked for further information and will let you know if I have more. Maybe I start another thread then?
